After the rain in the Portland area let up I had hoped that the cloudy skies would remain as I headed out of town so that I could check out the Tulip Festival in Woodland, Washington which is on my way back to Seattle. No such luck. Bright sun brought with it intense harsh light and wind gusts -- enemies of good outdoor photography. This tulip was swaying in the wind but using flash and a pocket reflector/diffuser helped me "freeze" the movement enough to record the image. The tulips were delayed about two weeks in the Portland area although some were in bloom.
